Owner & Groomer
Laura Hamilton
Laura is one of our Owners & Operators of The Standard Dog! She has been grooming for over 8 years and has even competed & placed in a couple grooming competitions! She has always had a passion for dogs since she was young and you could say she is living the dream now!
Laura is the creative mind behind our logo, decor, retail, and more! She is always working on a new project, whether its simply new t-shirt designs or a whole new floor plan for our shop!
Before opening The Standard Dog, she used to groom & manage a salon in Chattanooga, TN, before that she began at PetSmart in Georgia where she is born and raised - Go Dawgs!
​You may catch one of her two sweet pups at the shop, Cannon, an Australian Shepherd, or Cobbler, an English Cocker Spaniel!

Owner & Groomer
Dillon Wilson
Dillon is one of the Owners & Operators of The Standard Dog and has been grooming dogs for over 8 years. He started out working at PetSmart during college and got into grooming after graduating from UNC Wilmington. What began as a job quickly turned into a passion, and he’s been dedicated to improving his skills ever since. At The Standard Dog, Dillon focuses on quality grooming and making sure every dog feels comfortable and cared for. His goal is always the same: happy dogs that look great. When he’s not at the shop, Dillon enjoys playing drums and making music, he was even in a band!
At home he has two ups, Freya, a rescue, and Midna, a Standard Poodle! You may even find Midna hanging out at the shop some days!
General Manager/Receptionist
Daylyn Clark
Daylyn joined The Standard Dog in December 2022 and has been a welcoming, upbeat presence ever since. With about 7 years of experience in the dog world, she brings both skill and heart to the team. Before joining us, Daylyn wore many hats in different roles but has always worked with dogs since she was 16. She recently graduated from ECU with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration—go Pirates!
Her favorite part of the job is getting to talk with clients and build relationships with both them and their pups. While she enjoys all dogs, Dalmatians and Setters are her personal favorites, and she loves working on Doodles the most.
At home, she has CoJo, a big and lovable Sheepadoodle. When she’s not at work, Daylyn enjoys staying active and traveling

Salon Manager/Dog Stylist
Becky Trudeau
Becky's unwavering care for every dog and client we see, and true dedication to our mission of providing a new standard of care, has led her to be the best leader for our salon. With over 10 years of experience in the grooming industry, she provides such a fun-loving, passionate, and caring personality to our team, and we are incredibly grateful to have her!
Becky loves all dogs but specializes in our senior pups. She is the proud mom of her three year old son, Adrian, and dog mom to Wesley, a twelve year old German Shepherd mix, and Kuna, an eight year old Labradoodle who she rescued from a neglect situation. Becky has previously worked in the Raleigh area and built a loyal clientele there. She feels very fortunate that her pups from Raleigh make the trip to see her here in Greenville and she has truly loved getting to know her new clients at The Standard Dog!

Dog Stylist
Gray LeGoy
Gray has been with us since May 2024 and has been grooming for about 6 years! Before The Standard Dog, she started her grooming career at Petco and then moved to working for a private salon up in Maryland. She has brought a lot of skill and attention to detail to our team! She excels in doing fun, fluffy, Asian fusion trims! Pictured above is her fun, loving companion Fox, a Shiba Inu!
Outside of work, you may find Gray studying as she is currently in school working towards her degree in Medical Laboratory Technology!
Dog Stylist
Holly Mellott
Holly joined our team in November 2024! She has been grooming for about 11 years and began her journey at PetSmart, from there she worked at a few salons in Greenville before we got lucky to have her join us! She has built a strong clientele over the years due to her quality grooms and care for each dog as well as their owner!
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time her two sweet kids and her two pups, Kiara, a Golden Retriever, and Esme, a mix!
Salon Assistant
Amanda Walker
Amanda brings 16 years of experience in the dog world to The Standard Dog team. She spent 12 years as a groomer at PetSmart and 2 years as a caretaker at Top Dog Academy, where she honed her skills and deepened her love for animals. Outside of work, Amanda is most passionate about spending time with her family and bonding with their dogs. She loves creating strong connections and enjoying quality time with her loved ones, both human and furry.
Salon Assistant
Lauren Beck
Lauren brings 4 years of experience in the dog world to The Standard Dog team. Prior to joining us, she worked as a veterinary technician, bather, and farmhand, gaining a wide range of skills that make her an invaluable part of the team. Lauren is passionate about helping dogs in any way she can and loves learning new things to better support their care. Outside of work, she enjoys riding her horse, Swayzee, and showing him, which brings her a great sense of joy.
Receptionist
Dani Foster
Dani is the friendly face at the front desk and joined The Standard Dog team in December 2024. With a background in biochemistry from ECU, she brings a thoughtful, curious energy to the shop. Her favorite part of the job is connecting with both the dogs and their people, creating a welcoming experience for everyone. Outside of work, Dani is a creative spirit—she loves painting and expressing herself through art. Whether she’s learning something new or making someone smile, Dani brings heart and creativity to everything she does.
Receptionist/Social Media Manager
Kirsten Holley
Kirsten has been on our team since June 2024! She has wore many hats since joining, she began as a Bather, then moved to a Receptionist, and now found her fit as our Social Media Manager!
Kirsten has a passion for music and works with ECU School of Music, playing the piano for some of their classes! At home, she has one pup Scooby, a mix, and a cat!
Lead Bather/Prep
Kylie Falton
Kylie has 4 ½ years of experience working with pets and loves creating bonds with each pup, getting to know their unique personalities. She’s been passionate about animals since graduating high school and enjoys bringing that experience and care to every dog she works with at The Standard Dog. Outside of work, Kylie is dedicated to giving her German Shepherd mix, Link, the happiest and most fulfilling life possible. Link is truly the light of her life.

Kaylan Brandenburg
Kaylan is passionate about working with a wide variety of dog breeds and loves getting to know each dog’s unique personality. Before joining The Standard Dog, she spent many years in the food industry, where she took on a variety of roles, gaining valuable experience in customer service and teamwork. Outside of work, Kaylan enjoys spending time with friends and taking it easy with her five cats, who always bring joy and comfort to her life. She loves the balance of her life—whether it’s bonding with dogs at work or unwinding with her furry friends at home.

Olivia Waite
Olivia joined The Standard Dog team in July 2024! Though she’s new to the professional dog world, Olivia has always had a love for animals—especially the hunting dogs she grew up with. Her favorite part of the job is simply put: she loves dogs!
Before joining The Standard Dog, Olivia worked in the mental health field. Two weeks after graduating from Stony Brook University in New York with a BA in Psychology, she moved down south.
While she has a soft spot for English Setters and German Wirehaired Pointers, her favorite breed to work with is a Shih Tzu. Olivia has an Aussie mix named Micky (a.k.a. McRib), two mice named Samantha and Hillary, and a bunny named Bianca. Back in New York, she also has two German Wirehaired Pointers, Roxie and Winnie.

Laylah Haynes
Laylah joined The Standard Dog team in August 2024 after spending nearly a year shadowing and observing. She’s been surrounded by animals her whole life and has been pet sitting for nearly 5 years. She graduated from Pitt County Schools Early College High School with both a diploma and an associate’s degree in arts. Before joining us, she worked briefly in retail but quickly realized her heart was with animals. Her favorite part of the job is, hands down, getting to spend time with so many amazing pups every day. Outside of work, Laylah enjoys crocheting, making music, and especially singing.

Kenna Sternburg
Kenna brings 3 years of experience in the dog world to The Standard Dog. Before joining the team, she worked as a cook in a restaurant and also ran her own pet sitting business, combining her love of animals with her entrepreneurial spirit. Her favorite part of the job is getting to connect with each dog she works with, building trust and understanding their unique personalities. Outside of work, Kenna is passionate about reading and enjoys winding down with a good book.
